Castello di Santa Maria Novella // Certaldo, Tuscany

This Dutch destination wedding in Tuscany took place in June, during a sultry afternoon that turned into a pleasant and cool evening. Marieke and Willem came from Holland and chose an ancient castle on the top of a hill to celebrate their wedding in Italy. A secluded place not so far from Siena and Florence, Castello di Santa Maria Novella has been the venue for their preparations, the intimate ceremony in the deconsecrated chapel and the “al fresco” dinner in the courtyard. With their son, their families and friends, this couple spent an unforgettable day enjoying all the beauties of Tuscany in an unique place! I followed their wedding day in a silent and quite way, proposing them two different couple sessions using all the venue’s spots. In the afternoon we walked around the garden, and they danced, laughed and had some relaxed time for my camera. But later, during one of the best sunsets ever, we went up the castle’s tower and had a second session in the golden light: isn’t romantic?!
